Which tier is my bike?

One question decides it: does your bike have hard bags, a top case, or a full fairing? If yes, it's Touring pricing. Those add panels, edges and gaps that have to be cleaned by hand, and they roughly add an hour to the job. Size and engine displacement don't change much on their own — a naked 600 and a 1200 cruiser take about the same time.

Heavily soiled bikes, or bikes with oxidized chrome, may be quoted higher. Send a photo and we'll confirm the exact price before anything is scheduled.

Why coastal riding is hard on a bike

A motorcycle has far more exposed surface than a car — paint, chrome, brushed metal and plastics all sit in the open, and all of them react differently to salt air, UV and hard water. In San Diego that combination works year round, not just in summer.

A ceramic coating puts a hydrophobic layer over those surfaces so water sheets off instead of sitting and spotting, and brake dust and road grime release at wash time instead of needing to be scrubbed. On a bike that matters more than on a car: there is no clear coat forgiving your mistakes on chrome, and polishing it back is slow work.

If you ride often and wash often, the maintenance package keeps things sharp between deeper services. If you want to stop worrying about it, the ceramic route is the one that pays off.

Not sure which one your bike needs?

Send us a photo and the model. We'll tell you honestly which package makes sense — no upfront payment on anything.

Motorcycle detailing questions

Do you detail motorcycles at my home?

Yes. Motorcycle detailing is fully mobile, the same as our car service. We bring water, power, and every product to your home, garage, or storage unit anywhere in San Diego County. You need roughly the space of a single parking spot around the bike and nothing else. There is no drop-off and no upfront payment — you pay once the work is done and you have seen it.

How much does motorcycle ceramic coating cost in San Diego?

Our motorcycle ceramic coating runs from $380 for two years of protection up to $850 for nine years, with three and five year options at $499 and $715. Every level includes a detail wash, wheel and tire cleaning, chemical decontamination with clay bar, paint correction, and the coating itself. The final figure depends on the size of the bike and the condition of the paint and chrome when we start — a touring bike with heavy water spotting takes longer than a clean sport bike.

Is ceramic coating worth it on a motorcycle?

On a bike it tends to pay off faster than on a car. A motorcycle has far more exposed surface — paint, chrome, brushed metal and plastics all sit in the open, and coastal salt air, UV and hard water work on all of them year round in San Diego. A coating makes water sheet off instead of sitting and spotting, and lets brake dust and road grime release at wash time instead of needing to be scrubbed. That matters more on chrome, where there is no clear coat to forgive a mistake and polishing damage back out is slow work.

How do you decide if my bike is Standard or Touring pricing?

One question decides it: does your bike have hard bags, a top case, or a full fairing? If it does, it's Touring pricing. Those parts add panels, edges and gaps that all have to be cleaned by hand, and they add roughly an hour to the job. Size and engine displacement matter far less than people expect — a naked 600 and a 1200 cruiser take about the same time, because what drives the work is surface complexity, not volume. If your bike is heavily soiled or the chrome has started to oxidize, we may quote higher, but we'll tell you that from photos before anything is scheduled rather than on the day.

What is the difference between the two motorcycle packages?

Select Maintenance Shield is upkeep: hand wash, dry, chemical decontamination, and a spray wax that protects for about a month. It is for riders who wash often and want the bike sharp between deeper services, starting at $199. Elite Ceramic Protection is the long-term option — it adds paint correction and a real ceramic coating that lasts two to nine years depending on the level you pick, starting at $380. If you are washing the bike constantly and still fighting water spots, the ceramic route ends that cycle.
